Cane Sweetened Brunswick Stew
1 lb ground beef
1 lb chipped smoked boston butt
2 quarts crushed or diced tomatoes or equivalent in cans
1 quart green baby lima beans
1 pint diced white potatoes
1 cup diced yellow onion
12 oz tomato ketchup
1 Cup Barbeque sauce (I use Cattlemen’s)
2 Tbsp Worchestershire sauce
¾ Cup Maga & Pop’s Pure Cane Syrup (Adjust more or less to desired sweetness level)
1 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste (I don’t add salt because the vegetables generally already contain salt.)
Combine above ingredients and cook on med to low heat until lima beans and potatoes are soft, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching and sticking to pot.
Add 1 quart frozen creamed corn (or cans), cook until corn is just done.
1 Can LeSuer Sweet Peas - Just before serving, drain and mix into stew.
Serve and enjoy.
